
What is ACheS?
The Ateneo Chemistry Society (ACheS) is the home organization of chemistry students and chemistry enthusiasts in the Ateneo. ACheS is focused on utilizing chemistry as a tool towards progressive nation-building by solving the nation’s problems one step at a time. It is open to Atenean students who share the same passion in promoting the appreciation/application of chemistry for social involvement and aims to transform the normally challenging world of chemistry into a whole new dimension geared towards social change.
Affiliations
- The Ateneo Chemistry Society is recognized by the Office of Student Activities (OSA) of the Loyola Schools, Ateneo de Manila University, as an accredited organization.
- The Ateneo Chemistry Society is a member of the Council of Organizations of the Ateneo (COA), in which it has a regular seat and one vote.
- The Ateneo Chemistry Society is a regular member of the Science and Technology Cluster (STC) of COA.

IAN KEN D. DIMZON, Ph. D.
Org Moderator
The Moderator is the designated faculty adviser to the Executive Board and the organization and is responsible for overseeing the activities of the organization in line with the guidelines set by the Office of Student Activities.
Dr. Dimzon is an assistant professor and an instrument manager at the Ateneo de Manila University. He currently teaches analytical chemistry. He acquired his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Master of Science degrees from the Ateneo de Manila University and his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Amsterdam. Dr. Dimzon is currently a consultant at Philippine Institute for Pure and Applied Chemistry, where he works on method development and method validation and facilitates training on various topics related to chemical analysis.

DANIELLE B. LAPINIG
Org Adviser
The Adviser acts as consultant to the Executive Board of the organization and provides guidance and support to aid the organization’s formation efforts.
Ms. Lapinig is a former active member and alumni of the Ateneo Chemistry Society. She graduated BS in Chemistry (2014), BS in Materials Science and Engineering (2015), and MS in Chemistry (2017) in the Ateneo de Manila University and was a part-time lecturer and instructor of the Chemistry Department. Ms. Lapinig also worked with the Philippine Institute of Pure and Applied Chemistry as a speaker for several seminars. She is currently one of the project leaders establishing the Integrated Protein Research and Development Center (IPRDC) under the DOST Niche Centers in the Regions for R&D (NICER) Program. Her work focuses on the development of open-source instruments and scientific equipment for education, bioengineering, and potentially diagnostic applications.

The Secretary-General is the official custodian of the records, papers and correspondences of the Society.

ISSEY JEREL A. MAGLUNOG

The Vice President for Creative Communications spearheads the branding, publications, and promotional requests of the organization while managing the official social media accounts and website of the organization.

RONELYN D. CANTERA

The Vice President for Finance and Sales efficiently manages the inflow and outflow of organization finances and spearheads the semesterly and yearly allocation of the organizational budget along with the organization’s President.

EULO MATTEO D. PENEYRA

The Vice President for Member Development directs holistic member formation and development through recreational activities of the Society that are exclusive to its members.

MIKHAELA FRANCESCA S. RADAZA

The Vice President for Member Monitoring monitors and facilitates member involvement through the formation and implementation of programs, systems, and efforts as deemed necessary.

RENO ROSSEL A. VALDEHUEZA

The Vice President for Public Relations submits a proposed list of possible sponsors, along with a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) template, to all the Public Relations deputies and Marketing Heads.

KIANNA LOUISE S. NAVARROSA

The Vice President for Research and Academics directs research efforts and organizes academic activities of the Society that are geared towards effective science communication, socially relevant applications, or chemistry appreciation.
